About us:
The Ducktown Basin Museum is nationally recognized as the provider for the preservation and interpretation of the cultural and industrial heritage of the copper mining region of southern Appalachia. The Museum focuses on educating visitors on mining history and the socioeconomic and environmental impacts of mining and its subsequent restoration.
The rewards of membership:
No, we can't credit you with airline miles, or points toward earning any free stuff. Your membership does include free year-round admission to the museum, along with a 10% discount on all gift shop purchases. But its other rewards are less tangible.
Although the museum's physical property is owned by the State of Tennessee, which takes care of major maintenance issues, we still depend on membership contributions to help us meet our day-to-day operating expenses. If you love this place, and you love its history, your membership means you're doing your part to keep it alive. You're quite literally helping us keep the doors open. And you're helping us grow, a little at a time.
So please consider becoming a member at whatever level you can afford. Individual memberships start at just $20 a year, and business memberships start at just $50. Having finally joined the 21st century (we are a museum, after all), we can now accept online credit-card payments. Of course, if you prefer, you can still mail us a check at P.O. Box 458, Ducktown, TN 37326.
To choose a membership level, or to join or renew your membership online, just click the link at the bottom of this page. You can also use this link to make a donation to the museum in any amount, for any purpose. The Museum is a 501(c)(3)organization so your gifts may be tax-deductable.
Thanks. We really couldn't do this without you.
